Molecular drivers and targets in development and disease
Naples, Italy • 17-19 June 2025
We are delighted to welcome you to the 20th Annual SIBBM Seminar, taking place from June 17–19 in Naples — a flagship event in the landscape of Italian scientific gatherings. Over the years, the SIBBM Seminar has established itself as one of the most prestigious and impactful scientific events in the country, consistently attracting renowned international and national speakers at the forefront of innovative research in molecular biology. This year, we are excited to present the theme: "Molecular drivers and targets in development and disease".
Our program is packed with fascinating topics, from RNA biology—spanning fundamental discoveries to cutting-edge therapies—to the intriguing world of epigenetic modifications, 3D genome organization, spatial transcriptomics, artificial intelligence, and much more. We’re also excited to host a joint session on synthetic biology and stem cell-based models, in collaboration with the Associazione Biologia Cellulare e del Differenziamento (ABCD).
This seminar is a fantastic opportunity for young scientists to shine. We’ll be selecting many abstracts for oral presentations and offering reduced registration fees for junior participants. And, of course, we’ll be handing out several prizes, including the SIBBM Riccardo Cortese Prize for the best talk, the "Francesca Martini" Prize for cancer research posters, and other awards for outstanding posters.
To kick things off, we’re excited to host the second edition of a special pre-meeting on June 16–17, dedicated to early-career scientists—Ph.D. students, postdocs, and fellows. This event offers a unique opportunity to connect with peers, exchange ideas, and gain inspiration before the main conference begins.
Participation in the pre-meeting is completely free, with no additional registration fee required. Moreover, travel grants for the SIBBM 2025 Annual Conference will be available exclusively to selected participants attending the EC-SIBBM pre-meeting.
We can’t wait to welcome you to Naples for what promises to be an exciting and inspiring gathering. Your participation is what makes this seminar truly special, and we look forward to seeing you there!
